Why “what next?” is hard
With a big library you know thousands of songs but can only think of a handful under pressure. A finder that knows the key, tempo, genre and energy of everything you own can surface the right track in seconds.
What each suggestion tells you
- A match score out of 100 and the key move (for example “+1, smooth lift”)
- The tempo change in percent, and whether it is half/double time
- Genre relationship and energy direction
- A short mixing tip for that pair
Four ways to tell it what is playing
- Search your imported library
- Type the artist and title
- Listen: identify the song through the microphone
- Link the optional Flashback helper to your DJ software
The rules it uses
The key rules come from the Camelot wheel and the tempo rules from the BPM & key matcher. Read the harmonic mixing guide for the reasoning.
How to find the next track
- Load your music. Import a library export, or try the demo library first.
- Tell it what is playing. Search, type the song, let it listen through the mic, or link the optional Flashback helper to your DJ software.
- Pick from ranked suggestions. Suggestions are scored for key, tempo, genre and energy, with a tip on how to mix each one.
- Play next or add to the set. Mark it as now playing to keep going, or add it to your set plan.
