Harmonic Mixing Set Planner

A good set is a journey: keys that agree, tempos that move gradually and energy that builds where you want it. The set planner checks all three for every transition, and it is free.

What the planner shows

Lock tracks, then re-order

Lock your opener, closer or a peak-time track. Smart re-order arranges every unlocked track by key, BPM and energy around them, and dragging never moves a locked track.

Backups for every slot

Crowd not feeling it? Each slot can show 2–3 alternatives that fit the tracks before and after it. Swap one in with a click; the replaced track becomes a backup.

Shaping energy

A common shape is a warm-up around energy 4–5, a gradual build, one or two peaks and a short cool-down. Avoid jumping more than two levels between neighbours unless it is a deliberate moment, and use a slower blend or an in-between track to bridge it.

Take it to the booth

Export to Rekordbox XML with cues, M3U for Serato/Traktor/VirtualDJ, CSV, or a printable cheat sheet that also lists your backups.

How to plan a harmonic DJ set

  1. Add tracks in order. Add from suggestions or search your library. Drag or use the arrows to reorder.
  2. Check every transition. Each pair shows its key move and tempo change, and the energy arc highlights jumps of more than two energy levels.
  3. Lock the anchors. Lock your opener, closer or any must-play track, then let Smart re-order arrange the rest around them by key, BPM and energy.
  4. Prepare backups and export. Open backups for any slot to see 2–3 compatible alternatives, then export to Rekordbox XML, M3U, CSV or a printable cheat sheet.

FAQ

What does the set planner check?

Key compatibility and BPM change between each pair, the energy arc of the whole set, likely duplicate tracks and, for Serato exports, tracks with more than 8 cues.

Can I keep certain tracks in place?

Yes. Lock any track and Smart re-order arranges the rest by key, BPM and energy while locked tracks, including the first and last, stay put.

What are backup tracks?

For each slot the planner can suggest 2–3 alternatives that fit the neighbouring tracks. Swap one in with a click; backups are saved with the set and listed on the cheat sheet.

How do I export my set?

As Rekordbox XML with cues, M3U, CSV, a printable cheat sheet, or a set file you can re-import later.
